I just happened upon these Mountain goats on the way to the top of Mount Evans. They had some kids (babies) with them. I was lucky enough to get close. This one jumped up on the rock on the edge of the mountain. It seemed to be looking out over the mountains so I had to take a few shots.

Q4. What is the location?
Location is a skyscraper named Nebotičnik in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Q5. How did you come up with the idea of this shot?
The idea came when I was at the top of this staircase, and began looking at it trough the camera. I saw different shapes when I moved just for a bit, and so I made this one which I think looks like an eye. And with some help of Lightroom I emphasized the shapes.

Extra Q: Please share an interesting or funny fact that happened while working on this photograph.
Nebotičnik (č = ch) is actually a Slovenian word, meaning skyscraper. And this building (built in 1933) was the tallest living facility in the whole Europe for about 6 months before someone build a taller building, which was not that difficult since it's only 70 meters tall. At the top there is a coffeehouse, that has been recently reopened. The view from the top is fantastic - you can see the whole capital Ljubljana underneath, and beyond.

The coffeehouse has actually been closed for many years, and I have never been up there. So I went there with a friend, we walked the staircase and realized that we actually couldn't reach to the coffee house by stairs. I took some photos there and we took an elevator to the coffeehouse.

Later, when we got back down, we realized we weren't suppose to use the stairs at all, so I was actually really lucky, because there is usually a guard downstairs, who escorts you to the lift, and the doors to the staircase are normally locked.

Smokey

5 questions about this photo:

Q1. What equipment did you use?
I used a Nikon D80 with the 100 mm Cosina macro lens (yeah, a really cheep one...), and a Metz 48 flash.

Q2. What settings did you have on your camera?
The camera was set to an aperture of f/11 and 1/125 sec, ISO was 100. Strobist info: Metz 48 with 1/64 power into small softbox, behind the glasses pointing towards the cam. Triggered with RF 602.

Q3. What software did you use during the post-production?
I used Photoshop CS4 for some brightness and color adjustment on the glass bottles. The pictures of the smoke were inverted (they were originally white smoke on black background) and the colors were adjusted via hue/saturation.

Q4. What is the subject of the photo?
On the photo you can see some small glasses (about 5cm tall) filled with colored water. I used here different colored ink, my trials with food color were not good, because they were not transparent and brilliant enough. The smoke pictures were shot with a joss stick.

Q5. How did you come up with the idea of this shot?
Originally I made the shot with the bottles and the smoke on different days, but found them a bit boring alone. So I decided to combine them into one picture to get it more interesting.

5 questions about this photo:

Q1. What equipment did you use?
Nikon D300s, Nikkor 60 mm f/2.8 G ED AF-S, Flash SB 800.

Q2. What settings did you have on your camera?
F/ 7.1, Speed: 1/80 sg, Exposition: -0,7, Contrast: Low, Sharpness: High, Saturation: Normal, WB: Automatic, ISO: 200. Shot in JPG, Flash: Automatic, ''Rebound the ceiling''.

Q3. What software did you use during the post-production?
PhotoShop CS. I always work with PS only.

Q4. What is the subject of the photo?
The subject of the photo is the eye of my friend as close as possible.

Q5. How did you come up with the idea of this shot?
That day I was working with insects but I did not get any satisfactory pictures. Usually, when I have my Nikon with the Micro Nikkor I pay attention to the details. I was sitting on a sofa near my friend and I thought why not to take an eye shot of her. 2 clicks were enough to take one of the shots of my life. It is impressive how beautiful the eyes are when we catch them so close.

5 questions about this photo:

Q1. What equipment did you use?
Digital Canon 300D, 18-55mm and natural light.

Q2. What settings did you have on your camera?
Aperture: f/5.6, exposure: 1/80 sec, ISO 100, focal length: 22 mm, exposure mode: manual.

Q3. What software did you use during the post-production?
Photoshop CS5.

Q4. What is the subject of the photo?
The subject of the photo is a spoon. This was a task for a photography class.

Q5. How did you come up with the idea of this shot?
The photography teacher gave us a homework. We had to take a picture, no matter the style, technique, with or without retouch, with a common theme "A Spoon".

Clearly the task was not only to photograph a spoon, but also to come up with a good idea, to bring out something original, with some plastic and aesthetic level and most importantly of all - to realize this idea. I am very pleased with the result, not only with how it looks, but rather by the fact that it got exactly how I proposed it in my imagination. It is my little private success.
